Earlier today while we were at the uni, he tried to look at these messages over my shoulder and I’m dumb so I shut my laptop quickly. He knew something was up. I was like, “Oh, I’m gossipping about you. You can’t know.” He automatically assumes it’s something about the Lucky Star crossplay that a bunch of guys want to do at Otafest next year. Perfect. I roll with it, but then he’s like, “no, no… why were you talking to Lauren K?” so I confuse him more. I think I said things like, “oh, it is about Lucky Star. Just kidding, I’d never do that. Maybe it’s about your birthday. Or my birthday! Who knows. It could be about Animethon.” etc. He was confused as FUCK.

So I go to work, then after, I head to Jamesons for wings with a few people from school. Smo texts me that Alfred asked her about it and she couldn’t stop giggling. That’s fine, I insist that Smo has nothing to do with it and smile like I’m obviously teasing him.

Around here was when LK texts me screaming “SAM REBLOGGED IT. OH GOD.” SO I literally just reach across the table, grab his phone, and put it in my pocket. “It has to do with that thing you’re doing, doesn’t it!” “hmmm? ;3” and this whole time, I’m frantically texting LK about how to fix this and such and eventually check to see what it looks like to him on Tumblr etc. Reblogging crisis was averted, I hand his phone back, and HE THINKS I’VE DONE SOMETHING BECAUSE I WAS FIDDLING WITH IT TO LOOK AT TUMBLR. LOOOL.

Eventually, 3/6 people get up to go to the bathroom. It’s him and I and Kyle. Alfred notices this and he’s like, “holy shit, you’ve been texting them haven’t you? Why is it just the three of us? What’s the plan? what the hell, you guys.” and I just smile and get up to go to the bathroom, too. Nicole gets back to the table as I walk to the bathroom and I see Dustin and Nadim heading back, too.

I return. Alfred’s spent the whole time trying to figure out what the hell I did with his phone. Kyle whispers to me, “When he asked Smo if she knew about it, I saw her giggle, and he asked if we knew much, so I made it seem like I was in on it. I have no idea what’s going on, but I’ve just been pretending to be in on it.” So Alfred’s seen us whispering to each other. I high five Kyle, tell him good job and grin at Alfred. Alfred begins to go crazy and tries to check Dustin’s text messages to see if I’ve been communicating with him. Later in the night, I obtain Dustin’s phone and show him that there’s no messages between us. Of course, Alfred knows you can delete individual messages.

After Alfred failed to check Dustin’s messages, he goes to the bathroom. I’m texting LK about things, etc….. just as I’m typing, “Okay, I’m going to stop texting you a bit…(so I can delete all my messages and let him see my phone.)” he comes back and sees that I’ve typed out everything not in the brackets, and he reads it to me; that’s how I realize he’s there. He didn’t see anything else. He suspicious about LK and Linda because he’s seen me texting them. I tell him LK and I are just talking about some cosplay stuff; the bias on my Erica dress. It’s all good, it’s just cosplay stuff. LK has no idea what’s going on. Alfred texts LK, she replies with “?”, I inform her that she should tell him we’re discussing my cosplay, she has no idea what’s going on, etc.

I delete all my text messages. Put my phone down on the table. Alfred immediately grabs it—and flips the fuck out. “WHAAAT. WHAT THE HELL—” he receives a text message from LK. “SERIOUSLY.” I look at it and it says “kayyyyy.” that’s all that’s in my phone. Kyle and I giggle like crazy and high five. I then calm down, and inform him that I’ve gotten a message from Linda about a tinychat tomorrow night.

Then I get to show him Dustin’s phone. When Alfred points out that you can delete individual messages, I grin and high five Dustin. Nadim, Dustin and Nicole are confused as fuck; Kyle’s just rolling with it. This was the best night I’ve had in a while. Alfred thinks it’s something to do with LK, maybe Linda, but mostly something between our school friends. He mostly looked around Facebook on his phone, tried Tumblr once or twice but didn’t seem like he suspected anything about that. This is perfect.
